Confident Hope

Romans 15:13

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (NLT)

Mission:

We are called to go into disaster-ridden areas and listen to the stories of the broken-hearted, so that we can assess their physical and spiritual needs and begin to bring hope in their hopelessness.

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a family of 5, with kids ranging in age from 3-8, to make a plan in which they'll sell everything and go on the road as missionaries.  

It doesn't make sense that simultaneously, within a matter of days, 3 of the 5 of us would suddenly, intensely, feel the call to go into full time domestic missions work.  

It doesn't make sense that our 8 year old, who has always struggled with change, would be one of the biggest advocates for this lifestyle change.

It doesn't make sense.

God doesn't always do things that make sense to us as humans.  It's true!   He doesn't expect us to fully understand every part of His amazing plan, be He does ask us to prayerfully, faithfully, and sometimes radically, follow His call.

We're a family on a mission, radically stepping out in faith to follow the call we feel in our lives and in our family.
